Paper Moon
Music for Your Special Event
About
Paper Moon music is Abbey on voice, guitar, autoharp, and ukulele, and Ed on violin, viola, and drums. We switched from EDM to analog after getting into camping—it's tough to find outlets in the woods! We play music that goes well with wine, friends, and also around a campfire with the sounds of critters in the night. We have a varied repertoire: classical, jazz, folk, timeless favorites from the 20s-90s, and up to date tunes as well!

Add a bit of song, and style, to your next gathering: we would love to provide just the right touch to your wedding, reception, holiday party, opening, or other special event. We're based in the Portland/Windham Maine area, and we can travel.

Abbey performed at the Copacabana in NYC as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator, and she has danced classical works with Ballet Chicago. She was a founding member of Misnomer Dance Theater and an electronic pop band BomberGirl.  Since then, she has unplugged and learned to ride a motorcycle and created the acoustic duo called the Paper Moon. She has a BFA in sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design, and is an expert personal trainer.

Ed performs a wide range of styles from classical to jazz, folk rock to electronic music, and he’s played with acts such as Jennifer Brunetti’s Mercyside and toured with Modern English and Jesus Jones. Ed has scored and collaborated in a number of television projects, live cinema soundtracks, theater, dance, animation and film scores, including work premiered at Cannes and Sundance, Off Broadway, and on BBC Television. Ed teaches violin and viola, scores music, designs, and loves photography.

"My husband Gary and I met Abbey and Ed via mutual friends earlier this year. We had an opportunity to watch them perform at our friends’ home and at a local open mic event. We instantly loved their music and were impressed by their professional and pleasant manner. During mid July, we invited Abbey and Ed to perform at our private party. We had sixteen acts, and we chose Abbey and Ed to play first, because their music would set a lively tone to start the party. Abbey and Ed did not disappoint, as they are ultimate professionals with a wide portfolio of contemporary songs. Abbey’s voice is lovely with a rich tone and perfect pitch, and the ukulele and violin flowed seamlessly throughout their songs.  On another occasion, I hired Abbey and Ed to play at a funeral reception.  My friend’s family requested that Abbey and Ed play classical music for three hours. They played various classical pieces for the full three hours and performed in a highly professional manner. They “wowed” the crowd with their ability to perform the complex classical music perfectly. During the various times that we have witnessed their performances, Abbey and Ed proved to us that they can play a wide range of music from contemporary to classical at a very high level of success. We look forward to more opportunities to see and hear them perform their beautiful music!" - Lisa F., Saco, Maine
